Programme Synopsis

The SMU FICS Professional Certificate in Corporate Credit Approval programme aims to provide participants with the essential competencies to evaluate, structure and approve credit facilities.

The curriculum focuses on credit evaluation, assessment of risk rating, debt servicing capacity, determination of security and credit support, loan management and setting up early warning systems.

The programme comprises of the following modules:

3 Structuring Credit Facilities
4 Credit Risk Monitoring
5 Regulatory Framework For Corporate Banking

 

Unique features
Case studies and discussions are used to provide participants with hands-on experience in the job function, which serves to reinforce the technical knowledge and application of competency skills.

 

Trainer(s)
ADAM WONG is a senior corporate, consumer banking professional and banking consultant, with over 20 years’ banking and financial training experience. He currently manages a consulting firm, focusing on the design and delivery of quality training programmes in SME financing, credit evaluation, cash management, syndications, project finance and trade finance and strategic business coaching to senior managers.

Class schedule: Weekday evenings and/or Saturdays

Scope of Accreditation
The programme is accredited under Job Role IV. A person in this role would have the following job responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing a limited specialist role in credit analysis function.
• Possesses some personal accountability, decision-making authority and risk management skills.
• Operates in an environment which is largely non-routine, unpredictable and complex.

Who should attend?

Credit officers, credit managers, account managers, relationship managers, lending support staff, branch managers and management associates will benefit from the in-depth training on the mechanism of corporate lending process. Candidates not working in bank lending department should have at least 2 years of banking experience. Professionals providing credit advisory and corporate risk evaluation to SMEs can also apply. Minimum of bachelor's degree required.
