Programme Synopsis

The SMU FICS Training: ECM – Origination, Structuring & Advisory (IV) aims to provide participants with the essential competencies to originate, structure and advise on equity capital market transactions.

The curriculum focuses on practical aspects to execute mergers and acquisitions, IPO, corporate restructuring, as well as managing post deal activities.

The programme comprises of the following modules:

2 M&A, Equity Fund Raising & Corporate Restructuring
3 Post Deal Support Management
4 Corporate Finance Regulatory Considerations & Code of Conduct

 

Unique features
Case studies, presentations and discussions are used to provide participants with hands-on experience in the job function, which serves to reinforce the technical knowledge and application of competency skills.

 

Trainer(s)
Our trainers are experienced professionals in investment banking, across the equity capital market value-chain, from origination, structuring, advisory to distribution. They are also experienced trainers, conducting courses in topics such as corporate finance, banking and finance.

Scope of Accreditation
The programme is accredited under Job Role V. A person in this role would have the following job responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing a specialist role in a corporate finance function.
• Assumes limited supervisory oversight responsibilities for a group of junior staff.
• Possesses a high degree of personal accountability, decision-making authority and risk management skills and has limited bottom-line responsibility.
• Operates in an environment which is largely non-routine, unpredictable and complex.

Who should attend?

Banking professionals in investment banking, stockbrokers, sell-side analyst, preferably with at least one year’s working experience in capital equity markets. Minimum of bachelor’s degree required.
