Programme Synopsis

The SMU FICS Training in Fund Administration (IV) aims to provide participants with the essential competencies to provide back office and administrative support for the professing of transactions for customer portfolio.

The curriculum focuses on trade confirmation and settlement, custodian services, fund accounting, valuation and reporting.

The programme comprises of the following modules:

2 Regulatory Framework Governing Fund Administration
3 Fund Administration & Operations
4 Fund Accounting & Valuation

Case studies and discussions are used to provide participants with hands-on experience in the job function, which serves to reinforce the technical knowledge and application of competency skills.

Scope of Accreditation
The programme is accredited under Job Role IV. A person in this role would have the following job responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing a specialist role in a fund administration function.
• Assumes limited supervisory oversight responsibilities for a group of fund administration junior staff.
• Possesses some personal accountability, decision-making authority and risk management skills.
• Operates in an environment which is largely routine, predictable and complex.

Who should attend?

New fund administration operations and support staff, auditors or compliance officers. Those with about 2 year’ working experience may also apply and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants should preferably have an accounting qualification or equivalent.
