The SMU FICS Certificate: Product Control – New Product Approval (V) aims to provide participants with the essential knowledge in new product approval process.

The curriculum focuses on accounting treatment, settlement procedures, control standards and valuation of major types of financial instruments. It also looks at the valuation models validation process, accounting practices and understanding of the reserve requirements on financial markets activities.

Case studies and discussions are used to provide participants with hands-on experience in the job function, which serves to reinforce the technical knowledge and application of competency skills.

The trainers are veteran banking professionals with experience across various functions (operations, risk management, financial and management accounting, tax, systems etc) in global market middle to back office operations.

Who should attend?

Financial accounts, management accountants, product controllers, IT application support, auditors, compliance and internal control officers. Minimum of bachelor’s degree required, preferably with at least 2 years experience in financial markets product control.
