Programme Synopsis

The SMU FICS Training in Treasury Sales (IV) aims to equip participants with the essential competencies to generate trade ideas and recommend treasury solutions to corporate clients.

The curriculum focuses on the treasury sales function includes the ability to assess relevant and interpret market information, formulate investment and trading strategies to client, build client relationship, manage risk exposure and execute trade according to industry code of conduct, in compliance with bank’s policies and procedures.

The programme comprises of the following modules:

4 Marketing Treasury Solutions
5 Financial Markets Regulations & Code of Conduct

 

Unique features

Case studies and discussions are used to provide participants with hands-on experience in the job function, which serves to reinforce the technical knowledge and application of competency skills.

 

Trainer(s)
The trainers are veteran banking professionals with experience in trading and treasury sales. They regularly conduct financial trainings in subjects related to treasury products, marketing and risk management.

Scope of Accreditation
The programme is accredited under Job Role IV. A person in this role would have the following job responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing a limited specialist and support role in sales relationship management role.
• Possesses some personal accountability, decision-making authority and risk management skills but has limited bottom-line responsibility.
• Operates in an environment which is largely non-routine, unpredictable and complex.

Who should attend?

Treasury sales managers, dealers, traders, relationship managers and corporate treasurers. Minimum of bachelor’s degree required, preferably with at least one year’s experience in financial markets.
